Performance as craft

Speed is not a technical afterthought — it is part of the design. How we keep our sites fast without sacrificing detail.

A beautiful site that loads slowly is, in practice, not beautiful at all. The first impression a visitor receives is the time it takes to arrive — and that impression is formed before a single word is read.

We treat performance as part of the design process rather than a checklist at the end. Images are served at the size the device actually needs. Type is loaded with care. Motion is measured, and everything that isn't essential is removed.

Modern tooling makes this achievable without compromise. Responsive images, lazy loading and efficient front-ends mean a site can be rich and detailed while still arriving almost instantly on a phone over a weak connection.

The reward is quiet but real: visitors stay, search engines favour you, and the site feels dependable. Speed is one of the most honest signals of craft a website can offer.
